Supported by research and inspired by Character Lab’s Student Thriving Index, Check-In Survey enables schools to quickly evaluate student attitudes about their emotional well-being, academic engagement, and fairness and belonging in their school community. The survey enables schools to monitor progress over time, fosters a supportive student growth tool, and offers the option to include additional statements tailored to their students and the school community.

Grades 3-12
The survey asks students to rate their agreement with 15 statements, each tied to one of three components: fairness and belonging, emotional well-being, and academic engagement.
A Quick, Easy Way to Gauge Student Well-Being
The brief online survey is untimed and quick to administer. It takes about 10 minutes for students to complete and can be administered multiple times throughout the school year.
Optional Mission-Aligned Modules
Check-In Survey Mission-Aligned Modules, which can be included along with the existing 15 items on the core survey, consist of prewritten items customized to a school’s mission so you can gather data insights that document mission success. Each module is comprised of five statements.
Understand Trends in School Climate and Culture
Reports provide administrators and educators with a comprehensive view of student data, enabling them to make informed decisions about targeted interventions and improvements in the school.
